The shanks do a good job of burying the residue, but the back gang comes pul and pulls the residue back up. You can only get the 512's with rippers shanks. We pulled a 7 shank with an JD 8970 and it was not near enough. The best tools are with the rippers on the back such as ecolo-tigers.
